Following is a list of Probascos that served in World War II which I have found in my research. If you have a Probasco relative who served in World War II and do not see them on this list, please email me with their information and I will be glad to add it to this list.

He was reported as missing in action (MIA) during WWII. Death is listed as Feb 1944. He served as a Tech 5 in the 751st Tank Battalion, inducted in Minnesota, and served in Sicily and Rome, Italy. Was awarded the Purple Heart. He has a monument at Sicily and Rome.

Was a prisoner of war, detained by the Japanese, and was executed on 24 Oct 1944 while attempting to escape from a sinking Japanese POW boat, the Arisan Maru. He has a monument at Ft. William McKinley in Manilla, Philippines and received a Purple Heart.

Enlisted in the U.S. Navy Jan. 20, 1943, and after graduating from the U.S. Navy School of Music, served as a Musician 2nd class at various submarine bases, including Guam and Hawaii. He was aboard the U.S.S. Litchfield, U.S.S. Proteus, U.S.S. Fulton and U.S.S. Sperry, and was honorably discharged from the USN Receiving Station, Brooklyn, NY on June 16, 1949.
He enlisted Mar. 6, 1939 and retired from military service June 20, 1960 as a Major. Served in the U.S. Army during WWII and Korean War. After retirement from active service, he continued working for Army Intelligence with the Armor unit at Ft. Knox, Kentucky until his untimely death in 1973. He was killed in a heliocopter accident while testing the new Starfire nightseeing device.
